![]() David S. Calef as student in 1963 working at WGBH TV2 in Boston. The camera is the RCA TK-12. That model was the first semi-solid state camera. It had major heat and design issues. It was re-designed as the TK-60. Calef did own four of the TK-60's, a seminal B&W camera that was the last before color became the norm. In April of 2009 the four cameras, processors and pedestals were donated to the Museum of Broadcasting in Rhode Island ![]() David S. Broadcast was a cooperative simulcast by BCTV,WKVT,WTSA, and the Brattleboro Reformer. David S. Calef was hired by the group to produce and direct the simulcast. Main floor was emptied of chair, tables and books and converted to studio by David S. Calef, Brian Tkaczyk and BCTV volunteers. Studio equipment supplied by Calef included 3 RCA-TK60 cameras, complete telephone MITEL SX-200 PBX system, monitors, switchers, audio console, waveform monitor, headset intercom system, etc. AP Teletype from the Reformer is just to the left of the tote board. BCTV volunteers built the set. Larry Smith of WTSA, Dale Houston of WKVT served as anchors. Commentators (at right) included former Governor Tom Salmon, former Lt. Gov.
